They decided to start “The Sacred Lotus” with the intention to provide an authentic ayurvedic experience close to the city of Kochi amidst the colonial heritage of Fort Kochi.

Centuries of Wisdom, Practised With Care
Venkatesh’s grandfather, Dr. K. G. K. Panicker, was the founder of one of the most prestigious Ayurveda institutions — Kerala Ayurveda Pharmacy Limited (KAPL).
He played a pivotal role in uniting two major Ayurveda fraternities in Kerala, leading to the formation of the Kerala Ayurveda Mandalam in the early 1900s, thereby strengthening the legacy and institutional foundation of traditional Ayurvedic practice in the state.
Venkatesh’s maternal grandfather, Govindan Vaidyar, belonged to a lineage of seven generations of renowned Ayurveda physicians of the Vallomparambath Panickassery Tharavad.
He studied Ashtanga Hridayam and other classical Ayurvedic texts under Vaidyan Kallayil Kumara Menon. He also worked for ten years alongside Nalumalakkal Kaakku Vaidyar, a distinguished Ayurveda scholar, before establishing Jai Hind Pharmacy in 1940 at Kodungallur (Cranganore).
