Kerala Therapies

Authentic, time-honored treatments from Kerala designed for deep healing and relaxation.

What Are Kerala Therapies?

Kerala therapies are a timeless expression of Ayurveda, perfected in Kerala through centuries of healing wisdom. Using warm medicated oils, potent herbs, and rhythmic techniques, they work deeply to restore balance, ease tension, and revive the body’s natural vitality

Your Healing Begins With Understanding You

Assessment & Plan
Your doctor or therapist begins by evaluating your condition, dominant dosha, and primary concerns such as pain, stress, or recovery needs. Based on this assessment, an appropriate Kerala-style therapy — or a combination of therapies — is carefully selected to suit your body and health goals.
Before the main therapy, the body is gently prepared in a warm, calming environment. Light oil application or mild warmth helps relax muscles and open channels. Simple breathing guidance may be offered to settle the mind and enhance the effectiveness of the treatment.
The selected Kerala therapy is performed by trained therapists in a quiet, distraction-free setting. Depending on your needs, this may include Abhyangam (full-body oil massage), Shirodhara (warm oil flow on the forehead), Pizhichil (rhythmic oil bath therapy), Navarakizhi (medicated rice bolus massage), herbal Kizhi treatments, or localized oil-retention therapies such as Kati, Janu, or Greeva Vasti. Each therapy is administered with care, precision, and attention to comfort.
After the session, you are given time to rest and may be offered herbal tea. Basic instructions regarding bathing, activity levels, and dietary considerations are provided according to your dosha to support continued benefit from the therapy.

How Long Are Kerala Therapies Sessions?

The duration depend on your condition, age, strength, and treatment goals. After evaluation, your doctor recommends a schedule that ensures both effectiveness and safety.

Single Session

— 60 to 90 Minutes

Each therapy typically lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. This includes preparation, the core treatment, and a brief rest period afterward. Even a single session can provide relaxation and temporary relief.

— 5 to 7 Days

A 5–7 day course, with one session per day, allows cumulative therapeutic benefits. This is suitable for stress relief, mild pain management, or as an introduction to Ayurvedic body therapies.

— 10 to 14 Days or More

For deeper therapeutic needs such as chronic pain, mobility issues, or nervous system imbalance, a longer programme may be recommended. These sessions are often combined with Traditional Ayurveda or Panchakarma-based detox for comprehensive care.
